Fuller Lodge

The Fuller Lodge project began with a renovation study for the 1928 lodge (used during the Manhattan Project), with the aim of preserving its architectural heritage and its role as a community building. The report outlined five phases of work, and detailed ways to balance historic preservation with fire protection, HVAC, building codes, accessibility and drainage as well as user needs.

Phase I included improvements to signage, lighting, and walkways, and the renovation of the north wing interior.

Phase II included renovation of the art center and parking lots, and changes to improve the Lodge’s appearance (including log, wood window and wood trim repair). Historic features were preserved or replaced where possible. New features were clearly shown while still maintaining visual integrity.
